Fourteenth Annual Finstock Palm Sunday Sacred Harp singing was held on Sunday 16 March 2008. The chairperson, Mandy Townsend, called the class to order at 10.30a.m. and welcomed everyone to the 14th Finstock singing day. She welcomed the group of parishioners from the area who were to commence their Palm Sunday parade, starting from Finstock village hall and invited their leader, the Reverend Jane Knowles to lead the class in prayer. She then led the first song, 52t. The memorial lesson was led by Bernard Collard who invited the class to think of all the names listed. The names of the deceased were read out by Emily Verrier as listed: Vera Ross; Margaret Ranner; Roy West; Cicely Mary Smith-Bird; Paul Mercier; Hélène La Rue; Amanda Denson (Alabama); Peter Hampson; Ron Francis; June Crawford. Sheila Macadam led song 441 for the deceased. Ken Baddley led the lesson for the Sick and Housebound.  The names of the Sick and Housebound were read out as listed: He then led song 27. Ken Baddley read out the names on the Celebrations list: Cath and Phil Tyler on their forthcoming baby; thanks given for the wedding of Bernard and Ann Collard. Steve Fletcher led song 312b for those on the celebrations list.

The class resumed with Chris Brown leading song on page 206. Leaders: Helen Brown 43; Mick Verrier 106; Leslie Alperin 268; Ted Brown 81t; Mandy Townsend 490; Jill Thompson 344.
