The tenth Annual Oxford Sacred Harp Singing Day was held on Saturday  before the fourth Sunday in June.  Chairman Edwin Macadam called the  class to order at 10:00 a.m. leading 287, and Ken Baddley offered the  opening prayer.  The following officers were elected or appointed to  serve: Chairman-Edwin Macadam; Vice Chairman/Secretary--Sheila Girling  Macadam; Arranging Committee--Steve Fletcher and Nick Hall, Chaplains- Ken Baddley and Bernard Collard.  Sheila Girling Macadam conducted a  brief singing school, leading 49t.  Leaders: Tony Singleton 49b; Ken  Baddley 34b; Rachel Jordan 66; Bernard Collard 171; Linda Reed 99; Ted  Brown 569b; Stephen Biggs 178; Mandy Townsend 84; Richard Percival  33b; Nick Hall 479; Dave Townsend 300; Jacqui Selby-MacLeod 143; Steve  Fletcher 272; Edwin Macadam 538.

RECESS

Tony Singleton called the class back to order leading 277.  Leaders:  Sheila Girling Macadam 441; Tom Gerber 146; Rachel Jordan 474; Bernard  Collard 362; Linda Reed 496; Ken Baddley 497; Stephen Biggs 276; Nick  Hall 389; Jacqui Selby-MacLeod 448b; Ted Brown 378t; Mandy Townsend  318; Richard Percival 313b; Dave Townsend 198; Adrian Bolge 47t; Steve  Fletcher 448t; Edwin Macadam 304; Tony Singleton 504 (for Jean Barton,  currently in Seattle); Sheila Girling Macadam 299; Bernard Collard  454; Ted Brown 30t; Rachel Jordan 200; Stephen Biggs 288; Ken Baddley  350; Mandy Townsend 72b.  Mary Bolge offered the prayer before lunch.

LUNCH

The afternoon session was brought to order by Richard Percival leading  159.  Leaders: Linda Reed 344; Nick Hall 147t; Jacqui Selby-MacLeod  163b; Tom Gerber 38b.

Ken Baddley conducted the memorial lesson, reading from Ecclesiastes  12 and leading 28t for the following: Joyce Leigh, Harold Morris,  Robert Taylor, Hélène La Rue, La Rue Allen-Alabama, Amanda Denson  Brady-Alabama, Peter Hampson, Sally Buxton's Dad, John Hicks, John  Hall, Beatrice Davies, and Raymond Ayres.  The sick and housebound  were recalled by Bernard Collard, and Sheila Girling Macadam led 340  for the following: Sylvia Thomas, Ron Trippier, Rex Cousins, Gladys  Buchanan, Nicola Wilson-Smith, Stan Shaw, Yvonne Blake, David Lee, and  Ivy Hughes.  The memorial was closed.

RECESS

The class resumed singing with Dave Townsend leading 155.  Leaders:  James Percival 63; Adrian Bolge 156; Steve Fletcher 383; Edwin Macadam  528; Rachel Jordan 269; Tony Singleton 86; Sheila Girling Macadam 236;  Ted Brown 111b; Linda Reed 515; Bernard Collard 112; Mandy Townsend 203; Ken Baddley 481; Richard Percival 48t; Jacqui Selby-MacLeod 122.

RECESS

The final session commenced with Nick Hall leading 145b.  Leaders:  James Percival 209; Adrian Bolge 150; Dave Townsend 457; Tom Gerber  268; Steve Fletcher 274t; Bernard Collard 480; Ken Baddley 192; Rachel  Jordan 107.  Announcements were made and invitations extended to other  Sacred Harp singing events around the country.  Edwin Macadam and  Sheila Girling Macadam thanked all the officers, committees, and  anyone who helped in any way to make this singing possible, and led  347 as the closing song.  Richard Percival offered the closing prayer,  and the class was dismissed.
