Maps and Directions

Weedon Bec (or Beck) is located about 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Daventry, 7 miles (11.3 km) west of Northampton and is at the crossroads of the A5 and A45 main roads. The Grand Union Canal (1796) and West Coast Main Line both pass through the village. [References are those back to Wikipedia]

For those approaching Weedon using the M1 Motorway, take Junction 16 (signposted to A45 Daventry and Coventry, travelling westwards). The junction with the A5 will be reached in about 4-5 miles, having passed through the village of Flore. At this junction, turn LEFT on the A5, and almost immediately take the first turn RIGHT into the village of Weedon Bec. This will pass under the Canal and Railway (narrow bridges!).

At next T junction turn LEFT into centre of village, at which point turn RIGHT on West Street. The Village Hall is about 500 yards on left.

Carparking will be available on a first come first served basis in front of the Hall, but use the first access not the second as a one-way system operates.

For those approaching Weedon from the south, not on the M1, take the A43 (between Northampton, Junction 15A on the M1 and Junction 10 on the M40), and turn northwards onto the A5 at the roundabout north of Towcester (RIGHT from Northampton and LEFT from the M40).

This is Watling Street. Having passed the village of Pattishall and the Pub called the 'Narrow Boat' on the right, take the next turn LEFT, immediately after the bridge over the Canal, signposted Weedon, go under the Railway and Canal (narrow bridges!) and the road takes you into the centre of Weedon Bec. At the cross-roads, go STRAIGHT ON, along West Street, and the Village Hall is about 500 yards on left.

Carparking will be available on a first come first served basis in front of the Hall, but use the first access not the second as a one-way system operates.

For those approaching Weedon from the north and west, this is likely to be along the A45 from the Coventry direction. Turn RIGHT on the A5, southwards.

Take the first turn RIGHT into the village of Weedon Bec. This will pass under the Canal and Railway (narrow bridges!).

At next T junction turn LEFT into centre of village, at which point turn RIGHT onto West Street. The Village Hall is about 500 yards on left. Carparking will be available on a first come first served basis in front of the Hall, but use the first access not the second as a one-way system operates.

Alternatively, turn RIGHT before you reach the A5 along Harman's Way through the housing estate, then Bridge Street, until you reach the main cross-roads in the centre of the village, whereupon turn RIGHT along West Street.

To avoid the narrow bridges with larger vehicles, there is a further way into the village, off the A45.  This turning is immediately to the west of the cross-roads of the A5 with the A45, after having crossed the canal and railway lines. From this cross-roads, take the second turn LEFT, southwards, and follow Harman's Way through the housing estate, then Bridge Street, until you reach the main cross-roads in the centre of the village, whereupon turn RIGHT along West Street.
